THE THINGS ON MY DESK

Having finished the structural edit for The Wish Bird, I’m putting it away for a while. When I get back to the story next week I’ll hopefully see it with a set of fresh eyes.

The only way to get good at anything is to practice.

Drawing and painting were my first loves in life. But since I became an author and began painting pictures with words instead, I don’t have much time left to work on my art.

So while I’m waiting for my mind to clear, I’m capturing the little things around me in my sketchbook.

My desk is far more cluttered. There are manuscripts and tiny scraps of paper with ideas written on them. There are pencils and crumbs from breakfast and bills to pay, but they’re all boring stuff to draw.

Here is a cleaned up version.
