This beautiful Tawny Frogmouth I saw on my walk the other day nesting in the branches of the oak tree outside my house. A few years I go a pair raised two young. It was such a privilege watching them grow. They are nocturnal creatures. Their colouring is like bark and together with this camouflage they assume a position like a branch and remain very still until the danger passes.

What beautiful photos. You’ve captured the Tawny Frogmouth so very well.
I received a pleasant surprise myself as they were taken with a small digital camera not a DSLR which I was going to use.
