I love travelling for the different things I experience. Here are some of the highlights of today. In between sightseeing, I’m try being a writer.
Great bookstore in Soho with a coffee shop attached. Love the books hanging from the ceiling.
SUBWAY
This little cutie pie was on the subway.
BOWERY CONGEE ON THE BOWERY
I had lunch today with my daughter, Lei Lei and Mary Lea Awanohara, publisher and editor for displacednation an interesting website on all things cross cultural. We ate Xiao Long Bao and Snow Pea Sprouts, which are my most favourite vegetable, plus two types of congee ( Chinese rice porridge) – chicken and mushroom and scallops and gingko nuts. The fried dofu was also a favourite. For three people the whole meal, including tips cost $42. Such great value for such good food!
FASHION
If I were rich….
Etro is an Italian fashion label I love. The colours are amazing, the designs, the attention to detail, the fantasy all add to make each piece a work of art. So of course I had to go into their Soho store and take a look and feel. One item of clothing costs thousands of dollars.
Odd people, good books, good food and fashion are all what I’m looking forward to when I get there in 2 weeks. I can’t wait! The food looks so scrumptious Gabrielle 🙂 It sounds like you’re having a fabulous time there!
Hope you enjoy NY as much as I do, Kathleen!
