My name is Stella and i think  that your books are absolutely amazing!
I was really inspired by you to let my imagination run and to write interesting stories to entertain myself.
I really love the Australian girl meet Poppy series thats my favourite and I’ve just about read every Australian girl book, buts your definitely stood out most to me. I just love how in your book the suspense keeps going and i never found myself to be able to put the books down.
Now i just have a few questions I would love to ask you
1. What inspired you to write Meet Poppy?
2. What was your most favourite book to write?
3. What would be a good tip for all the people out there who would love to be able to write books?

And thats all, Thank you so much to take the time to read this if you do and I understand if your unable to respond and answer my questions Thanks again~ Stella <3 :)

Hi Gabrielle wang,

At Thomas Mitchell primy school in year 4 we are giving you a letter from you.

Think you for teaching us about your drawings.

From Stella

Dear Gabrielle Wang,
Hi I’m Madison and I am a student at a school in Victoria.
It’s really a great opportunity to chat with you. In literacy groups I chose to read The Wishbird and just finished it with the rest of my group. I loved the way you described the characters feelings and the way you made me feel like I was there in the Forest of Birds with mellow and oriole and the other birds sleeping in the ancient Banyan tree or being carried on a rug high in the sky by my feathered friends  or wandering sad, lost and blind to the beauty of music and color that I used to know.
I want to become an author like you one day. You’re my inspiration.
Love Madison

Dear Gabrielle,
Thank you for coming to Malvern Primary today!
Some of us really enjoyed it including me.
My favourite part was when you tought us to draw peng. It is so cool I am drawing him now.
Now that I heard about how you became a writer I really want to become a writer to.

Have you ever travelled to any other place in the world?

I really enjoyed the stories you told us about your childhood. They sounded very exciting. No wonder you have so many good ideas for books.

I can’t wait to see you later this year.apparently your coming to my school.
I don’t mind if you post this

Catherine

Dear Mrs Wang,
I LOVE your books! I read the Pearl of Tiger Bay and I loved it! When I read the book, I assumed you  were a young girl because you described perfectly through the eyes of a girl my age! Your writing talents are pure amazing! I must ask a question that has been eating my head, why is the story called the ‘Pearl of Tiger Bay?’ I understand their was a rock formation that looked like a tiger, but why did you choose a tiger?
I don’t mind this being posted on your website. It just shows how appreciative I am about your books.

Thanks, Aleen

Dear Gabrielle Wang

My name is Audrey.

I am 10 turning 11 (In 120 days!)

I grew up in Sydney, Australia but I am currently living in Bali, Indonesia.

I am writing to you because I LOVE your book The Wishbird!

I find your writing inspiring and enchanting!
The way you write just draws me in!

When I was reading The Wishbird I just couldn’t put it down!

I love how the book is mysterious and adventurous!
My favourite character is Mellow, I just love the way you describe him.

He sounds so… MAGICAL!

Now, If you don’t mind I would like to ask you some questions!

What got you inspired to write The Wishbird?

Who is your favourite character?

Are you thinking about writing a sequel or a prequel? I would definitely read it if you did!

What are some of your other books and which is your favourite?

AND FINALLY, How long did it take you to write The Wishbird?

I REALLY hope you write back soon because you are utterly AWESOME!

From, (The one AND only) Audrey ♥

Hi my name is Laura I am 11 years old and live in a small town in Tasmania called Bicheno. Recently I read the book A ghost in my suitcase. It is one of the best books I have ever read. I felt as if I was part of the book, especially when she was looking for Ting Ting’s necklace. I got annoyed at Celeste when she wouldn’t tell her Por Por anything. I really enjoyed the part when Celeste had to go to the courtyard and remove the Fat Belly, it was funny how she tricked him into telling his story. The book was so good. Once I started to read the book I could not put it down. When I was in grade 1 Our teacher read us the book ‘the Zodiac Race.’ It was a great book. Could you please write a sequel to the book ‘A ghost in my suitcase where Por Por and Ting Ting come to Australia and the three of them go ghost hunting. I think it would be really interesting if Robbie somehow manages to find out about this and wants to go with them. Also if you do write a sequel could you write about how Bao mansion is now.

Thank you so much for reading this
Laura

Hi Gabrielle!
I am in the middle of reading your great new novel, The Wishbird.

I am just wondering, what are the most important things in this book that makes it special to you?

There are many things in this book that makes it wonderful such as the characters, they are all unique and interesting. You also have different names that I would have never imagined calling a person such as Rabbit or Boy. It makes this particular book stand out.

I love all of your books and I have especially enjoyed reading There’s a Ghost in My Suitcase, The Garden of Empress Cassia and of course The Wishbird.

I look forward to your future books which I will without doubt, read.

I appreciate the time you have given up reading my email. You are truly inspirational and I want to be just like you when I graduate school. Inspiring others, writing stories and drawing, it seems nice even though I am not a very good drawer!

Anyway, have a nice day,
Love Sarah

Dear Gabreille,

I have just finished reading A Ghost in My Suitcase and I really enjoyed it.
I was woundering if there will be another one were Ting Ting goes Australia?

From #1 fan Georgia
Dear Georgia,
If you want to write a book ask yourself these questions:
What do I love to do?
What kind of books do I like to read?
What am I curious about?
If you like to read mysteries like I do then make your story a mysterious one.
Make your main character love the things that you do then it will be easier to write.
And read lots and lots of books.
X Gabrielle

Hey Gabrielle! I LOVE the Poppy books and I really enjoy the story about Poppy finding her brother. She has a really cool character that makes the reader want to know more too. And I was wondering, are you going to write the Pearlie books for 2014? Because when I saw the picture of the girl who’s Pearlie, I saw the ‘g’ next to the frame, and I had a hunch that you were going to write the books. And I saw a samurai sword in the picture too. I was just wondering. I was wondering when they were going to make an OAG book based in Darwin during world war 2! can’t wait!
Best Wishes
Siobhan O.

Dear Gabrielle,
My name is Sarah. I have just finished reading The Garden of Empress Cassia, it was amazing!

I love it so much. It is a great story and I want to let you know that I love that you used so many descriptive words. It made me feel Mimi’s emotions and it was like a movie because I could hear and see her as well.

As well as you, I am a Chinese-Australian. I am also Scottish, Irish and English. I love being a banana. It means that as Miss O’Dell said you can experience the best of both cultures, which I do.

It has been a pleasure writing to you. I am inspired by all of your great books.

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi

I just finished reading Little Paradise and I loved it! I adored every single character, both primary and secondary. I’d just like to ask you a few questions:

What happens to Rose, Dave, Jock, Murray, the Hartmanns and Stefan? Edward and Chrissy? I teared up when the Hartmanns left for Australia. Does Mirabel ever see them again?

Hi Gabrielle Wang
My name is Gabrielle too. I’m am in year six and I love your books especially little paradise. While I was reading I couldn’t put the book down. Your books are very descriptive. I hope you can make new ones to.

Dear Gabrielle,
If I was an author I would call it: Butterflies at my fingers.
Here I made a song.
When I see my tears drop on the ground
My heart breaks and I fall
But I see a bit of hope
I stand up tall like a building high up in the sky
I see butterflies flying at the top
When I reach out they perch on my fingers
But when I flick my hand they go
I try my best to get them back
Instead I see a girl
She takes me alone
She takes me to a garden
Where I see my butterfly flying high

Hi Gabrielle,

This is just a little bit of fanmail for you:

Your talk at the Abbotsleigh Literary Festival today was really inspirational for me. I really liked how you incorporated so many elements from your childhood and vibrant personality into your books.

Going to your talk was so exciting-you gave me so much to think about; and you’ve encouraged me to keep writing even though I was on the verge of giving up. You also encouraged me to keep trying in art and just drawing and doodling. Thank you!!

I loved the story behind Little Paradise; it was so sweet and reminded me of all the fairy tales I used to read. I also really loved the story of Pearl of Tiger Bay-the supposed “witch” in the house and exploring. I could imagine mansion and two children hiding behind the tree.

You are one of the most inspirational, kind and funny authors and illustrators I’ve met at the various Literary Festivals Abbostleigh has held. Thank you so, so much for coming and sharing your stories, thoughts and giving me an insight to your wonderful imagination!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Hi Gabrielle Wang,
I have read all your Poppy books and they are fab-u-lous! At the end the man says Gus fell into the mine shaft but then he was alive! My favourite one was Poppy and the thief where Lin Tian stole Gus’s bag with the golden nuggets. And of course when he stole the pearl neckelace! I hope you could turn your Poppy books in to a movie! I know Gus is very discrptive but I really want to kinda see him like as a real boy! Did you know that someone in Lisa’s class called Gus?!
Bye :) Yvonne

This story is similar to your “Meet Poppy” by Yvonne

“Piiiipppppaaaaa!” Mother Songbird called from down below.
“Whhhhaaaattt?” Pippa called from above.
“Don’t what me young lady!”
Pippa looked down. Out of all the leaves she could make out a body of a grown up.
“I’m sorry pardon?”Pippa said.
“I want you to come down this instant!”
“Not until you let my bunny out of the dungeon!”
It was a quiet moment until Mother Songbird talked again.
“Fine, I’ll let Aqua out but don’t let him go wandering around again if you do I will not let him out ok? He almost went up my dress before.”
“Ok.”
Pippa jumped down and called out:
“I’m back!”
Ava, Pippa’s best friend ran out of the orphanage to hug Pippa.
“I am so glad your back!” Ava yelled.
“Hey, hey you don’t have to yell” Pippa said.
Since Pippa was the oldest in the orphanage everybody asked her what to do when they grow up but Pippa couldn’t answer she wasn’t grown up yet because at the age of 12 she wasn’t even a teenager yet!
“I was sooooo worried when you weren’t in the orphanage you have been in that tree for three days!”Ava said.
“I don’t know why I went up there I just felt like it.” Pippa said.
“Alright people stop gawking at Pippa and start working!” Mother Songbird rang out.
Ever since Mother Songbird had taken over the orphanage it seemed like there was no fun anymore it seemed like work, work, and work.
“Ewwwwwwwwwww do we have to have the job of cleaning Aqua’s cage?” Ava groaned.
Pippa adored Aqua but she didn’t like it when he did his ‘you know what’ and she had to clean it now it was her and Ava’s turn to clean it.
“You’re cleaning it or you’re not getting paid!” Mother Songbird shouted. “Or do ya wanna clean the loo?” Mother Songbird said in her trying to speak Australian voice.
“No Mother Songbird.” Sang the two children.
“Good now run along little pests I need to rest.”
“I wish I could talk back at her. It seems like she doesn’t care about her children” Pippa thought as she carried the soap, gloves and water.
Just then she heard a big crash. Four children had knocked a big stack of chairs onto the ground and Mother Songbird stomped up to them and led all of them to the dungeon. “You little clumsies will not receive food nor water!” She shrieked.
The children tried to run away but Mother Songbird’s grip left them being pulled tightly.
“I am going to talk to her now for the first time.” Pippa said.
“NO!!!!!” Ava yelled.
“I am.”
“Oh well.”
“MOTHER!!!! It’s not fair you get to force children to do work and not let them rest you said your going to pay us but for three years you have been sitting and chilling out and let us do some things that are utterly disgusting, you put children in the dungeon just because they made a mistake like before those four children, the knocked the stack of chairs because you put a stack of chair at where they were working! IT’S NOT FAIR MOTHER!!!!” Pippa screamed.
Mother Songbird stood there from utter shock and then she started crying.
“I am sorry children I have been very harsh on you for the past few years because…
Pippa I am very sorry to say this but your father died and I have been telling you stories about him.”Mother Songbird sobbed.

I put the first part and the second part together and publish it too please answer by today thanks

from Tjala

Dear Gabrielle,
I’ve read 2 of your amazing books so far and I think you are very talented. My class and I had to read A Ghost in my suitcase and I loved it to death soooo much that my mum keeps telling me to shut up about the book and that i have to add it on my birthday list, which is on the 19th of June.
I’ve read A Ghost in my suitcase and it is, if i may, very insprirationale and I could relate to the characters and when i listened to the book I felt like i was there. When i go to bed now all I dream about is Celeste, Por Por and Ting Ting and their amazing journey through the isle of clouds and beyond.
I’ve also read The Garden of Princess Cassia, I think it was called. I could also relate to the characters and it was very cool how she was pulled in to this perfect little world where everything you saw was her paintings and every little detail she added herself. At the moment i’m waiting for my mate to finsh readong The Pearl of Tiger Bay, he is a very slow reader and i’m getting very impatient, he’s had this book for over 4 weeks now and i’m sick of waiting. I am actually a very fast reader, I actually finished Garden of Princess Cassia in 1 night, started reading at 8:00 finished at 8:52 on the dot.
Anyway i’m in love with your books and I was just wondering where you are doing your next library visit at? Thanks heaps, please reply, Willow.

India

Hi Gabrielle,
I love reading your books. They are really good. I unfortunately haven’t read all of them yet (i am slowly getting there) but my favourite so far is The Garden of Empress Cassia, which i read with school in grade 6 (i am currently in year 9)and i can’t wait to start reading your new books, Meet Poppy and Poppy at Summerhill.

I have a few questions to ask you (if you don’t mind!!!):
What is your dogs name and what breed is he/she?
Do you have any other pets?
Where do you get your inspiration for all your stories from?
Are you good at art/drawing?
If so, i am really into art/drawing and i was wondering if you could give me any tips to help me improve on art/drawing?
Also, did you draw all those pictures that are on this website? If so, you are really good. Please give me some tips on how you do it!!!
I think that you are a really great author and i really admire your stories. Keep up the good work!!!

Emma

Hi! My name is Danah! Gorgeia might have sent you an email because she is in my class. Our whole class enjoyed your book very much! We all commented on how well you described Mimi and how well you wrote your very first book. Also, even though you feel like a ‘banana’ why are you ashamed of being Chinese? Anyway, I love your book and i am looking forward to reading more of your books.

Hi Ms Wang,
For school this term we are reading “Garden of Empress Cassia”. I read it in TWO DAYS it was SOOOOOOOOOOO good.
It was one of the best books I have read.
I was wondering if you are Australian or if you live in a different country.
I hope you can get back to me.
Georgia

Hey Gabrielle! I stumbled upon your page while looking at another Aussie author’s page (Michelle Cooper).

I read your About and just want to say thank you for believing in yourself and not giving up when those 6 publishers rejected your first novel.
I first read The Garden of Empress Cassia when I was in primary school (year 5 or 6) and it became one of my favourite books. It’s so rare to find Australian novels about Chinese people (I’m Chinese myself) and the story blew me away from the first page.
Your book started my love of reading and left a deep impression.
I’m in my first year of university now and I still remember the beautiful imagery you used to describe the garden.
Thank you for writing such an amazing read!

Hello Gabrielle,

My name is Janna and I am 11 in Year 6. I have read 5 of your books and still reading more. My favourite so far was ‘A Ghost In My Suitcase’.
I know this isn’t the best question but I would like to know how old you are and when you started writing?
Also, were you any good at Reading Comprehension when you were at school???
I am a curious person and I was wondering about how many books you have written?

Please write back,http://tracking.technodesignip.com/?action=count&projectid=642&contentid=6576&referrer=-&urlaction=r...
JannaRed heart
P.S Your dog is soooo cute!! What’s your favourite colour? Mines purple!

Hey! I have just finished reading your awesome book Little Paradise! This book is such an inspiration! I think that Little Paradise is a must read for every teenage girl. It reminded me to never give up on hope, love and dreams. Is there any books like Little Paradise that you wrote? Because I would love to read another one of your amazing books.
From your biggest fan right here in New Zealand! :)
(P.S: is there any chance you can give me an autographed copy of Little Paradise? Please?)

Dear Ms Wang, I’m Jemma and I’m writing to you because at school we have been doing some researching for a project on an author and I choose you. So far I’ve read 3 of your beautiful books,”Tiger Bay” rank 10/10, “Ghost in my Suitcase” rank 91/2 /10 and “The Lion Drummer” rank 91/2 /10. I have enjoyed them all but the first one I read which was Tiger Bay changed me into now a readaholic. Tiger Bay has been the best book so far that I’ve ever read, any other book I just wanted to put it down and go and play but all of your books I couldn’t stop reading. In Tiger Bay the house that Annie moves to has the same name of the place where my holiday house is Seaspray and some of the things that the book describes sounds a bit like the place Seaspray. Tiger Bay makes you feel a lot of different emotions including scared, sad, happy and confused.  Are you working on any more books at the moment? I’m looking forward to reading more of your great books. Yours Sincerely Jemma

I saw you at the voices of the coast. I really want to read little pardise. from Beth

In 2008 I attened the Readers Cup in which you were the guset author. I fell in love with your great ability to write. You have really inspired me! Now I really love to read your books and I have been writing plans to create my own books. I first read the Hidden Monastry and thoroughly enjoyed it.I really loved it so I ventured to The Pearl Of Tiger Bay.It was a fabulous book as well. Now in 2010 I have to read There’s a Ghost in my suitcase. I was so facinated by this story. No matter where I went like the shops,I would be reading it all the way in the car and back.It was so hard to put down that I finished it in 3 days!I’m well into my way into reading it again. Although I’ve read it I’m still really excited to read it again! It was fantastic. Hope to read more of your books in the future.
Thought that this message would brighten your day.Hope I haven’t bored you!
Love all of your books!
Mikayla.

Hi Gabrielle! I just thought I might tell you that I read Little Paradise a little while ago. It’s now shelved under my absolute favourites…I laughed, I cried, and smiled in that book. It’s positively excellent. I especially cried when Mirabel wrote that really awful letter to JJ (he’s such a cute character, by the way) and I’m just lucky none of my family walked in on me while I was bawling my eyes out! And when Mirabel was talking to Rose about her future and said Rose would have fifteen children… I giggled a bit too much. Ahh, it was so amazing. Chriissii

Hi Gabrielle, It’s Bec Wu. Your drawings are fabulous and I’ve just recently read the Garden of Empress Cassia. I love it and do not show any pity to what happened to Gemma. Please publish more similar books.

A GHOST IN MY SUITCASE is a great book. luckily this year, my class has been nominated to be in the READER’S CUP & ‘A Ghost In My Suitcase’ is one of the books we are competing. It is a fantastic book as i know some of the knowledge as i am also a Chinese Australian that comes from Shanghai. But one thing is that i don’t think the Isle of Clouds exists. (: Lyn

Hi Gabrielle I have read most of your books they are fantastic. I started with Ghost in my Suitcase and i knew ihad to read more so then i went on and read Pearl of tiger bay and then Gardden of Empress Cassia and just recently i finished The Hidden Monastery and boy was that a great book.I can’t wait to read more From your BIGGEST fan Isobel

Hi it’s Amy again, I go to Margaret Beaufort Middle School, Risley,Bedfordshire, England. Are class has just finished reading your book, The Garden of Empress Cassia. It is really good, the best book ive ever read. We have done lots of English lessons on your book. Like writing a diary for Josh and Mimi, writing some of the highlights of lots of chapters out of the book. I really liked the ending, I thought that it was a happy but mysterious. I think that the fact that even though the pastels were thrown in the river by Gemma they helped Mimi’s friends, family and neighbours. The garden will always be with her. She realized her true friends were Miss O’dell, Josh and Peppy. The relationship between Mimi and her Dad, Mr.Lu grew and Gemma got her cumupence. Pheobe and Gemma won’t bother her again, so things are looking up for Mimi. Are you going to write another book in series to The Garden of Empress Cassia? Love your biggest fan

Amy

From Jessica

Dear Gabrielle Wang. My name is Kezia. I am 11 years old. I have read your book ‘A Ghost in My Suitcase’ and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a good plt and their were some good points in the story. If I could make a suggestion then I think it would be better if there was more ghost-hunting and more about the history of ghost-hunting. Also, why was it called ‘A Ghost in My Suitcase’? How did you come up with the idea? Why did you decide to be an author? I really want to be a writer when I grow up. I loved the end description of the talisman necklace. I think your book was a great read and I would suggest it to about 8 – 12 year olds. Yours Sincerely, Kezia.

Dear Gabrielle, It has been an honour having you visit us. Thank you for all your time.We thought your experiences were very interesting. Your picture of ‘Peng’ is just so magical. Dear Gabrielle,Thank you so much for replying! I have tried to E-mail so many authors before, and all I got back was an e-card type thing from their publishers or whatever, this means so much to me.Did you like reading when you where my age? I love reading, especially books like yours, with some mystery surrounding it, but it’s peaceful, and then the reader makes the same realisation at the same time as the main character….Sophie (New Zealand) (23 May 09)

Dear Mrs (Are you a Mrs?) Wang,I have read your “Garden of Empress Cassia” and “The Pearl Of Tiger Bay”. While I was reading “The Pearl Of Tiger Bay”, I didn’t even realise it was by you! Then today, I searched “Gabrielle Wang” on my school libraary computer, to see if they had “A Ghost In My Suitcase” (They didn’t but, oh well) and it came up with the books, I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT! I have loved your writing for so long without even noticing it! I have just finished “The Garden of Empress Cassia” and it is sitting in front of me now, I just noticed Adeline Yen Mah’s comment on the front, and I am even more excited, since I loved her “Chinese Cinderella” and “Chinese Cinderella and The Secret Dragon Society”. I am hankering for “A Ghost in My Suitcase” after reading the review in “Magpies”, for my Literacy Quiz Home Work. I have a question, Is the photo on the front of “The Garden of Empress Cassia” Mimi? I was wondering about it…..From,Sophie,Your #1 fan in New Zealand! (21 May 09)

Dear Ms Wang, I have read the book (The Garden Of Empress Cassia) and it grabbed me to the limit. Now that I have read it I would like to make sure the whole world can read it! So I am presenting a play to my class of year 4 with a group of friends that have read it as well.
From Teriza
P.S Are you thinking about writing a sequal to the book?

Dear Ms Wang,I have recently read your book (The Garden of Empress Cassia) and it inspired me to follow my own way.I have read this book for school and are doing a play on the chapters ‘Ghost Gum Park’. I am doing this with two friends.Love Claudia P.S Are you making anymore books soon?

Dear Ms Wang,
I have read your book The Garden of Empress Cassia and I love it. I love the idea of the garden and how she throws the pastels. I am making a play about the chapter Ghostgum Park. From Nadia! P.S why did you make the chapter sweet dreaming

HI, it’s me, Elliott. Do you remember me from the book launch a few months ago? Not only have I finished A Ghost In My Suitcase, but have read The Hidden Monastery and The Garden of the Empress Cassia. All three books were amazing stories, and I can’t wait to read Little Paradise.
Your books were a joy to read. ( and that ocean cake was a joy to eat )Elliott.Thank you soo much. I have seen in your books that you have great attention to detail, like in Garden of the Empress Cassia where Mimi’s parents spoke more grammaticaly correct in chinese in english. And I love how you used present first person text in Ghost in my Suitcase. It’s like your experiencing the adventure with Celeste. I could imagine how she felt when she was on that plane to Shanghai, as I’ve been on long plane trips too, and in Hidden Monastery, I could actually feel the frustration and stress when Mingzhi lost his mum’s ( which turns out to be his) gold necklace.

Hello Gabrielle Wang,
My teacher Ms Mclaren read us one of your books and i think it was fantastic
The book we read was the Garden of Empress Cassia and the part I liked best was when Jemma took those special pastels, my heart pounded, and when the art teacher told Mimi about her using the pastels and terrible things came out of her painting, that was scary

Hey Gabrielle,
My name is Lucy and I would like to say that I love your drawings and your books.
I think you really encouraged me to write books. Thank you for that. I have been writing a book for a while and I would love to finish it but I don’t think it is really good. My friends say it is but  I’m not sure if it is or not. I started when I was about 10 and now I am 12. I really want to finish it but I don’t think the start is very good. And also I didn’t write a rough copy I just started to type on the computer, so yeah. It is about five A4 pages long and I would hate to start again. What should I do???
Lots of Love,
Lucy
P.S. I was really interested by the story about the mansion?

My name is Raegan and I am eleven years old. I have read most of your books including The Garden of Empress Cassia, The Hidden Monastery and The Pearl of Tiger Bay. My favourite would have to be The Garden of Empress Cassia because I like the words you used to describe objects and people and I just loved the whole story. I listen to the tape of The Garden of Empress Cassia nearly every day. In the future I would love to become a writer just like you. I read the tips on your website they are very helpful. Are you planning on writing another children’s novel? Where did the idea of The Garden of Empress Cassia come from? And why did you want to be a writer?

Hello Gabrielle,
My grandaughter has borrowed your books from her school library, and then passed them on to me to read, her favourite being Empress of Cassia, as she, Maddison has been in art classes for  a little over 12 months.  So the Empress of Cassia has a great meaning to her, I also paint that  is why she passed the first book on to me, I was so delighted that she then  passed Pearl of Tiger Bay and then the Hidden Monastrey on, we both loved  them Many thanks for three  amazing books.  Elizabeth

dear gabreella please please write another book i have nothing to read and enjoy in the summer when i don’t have one of yourbooks, Thomas

Hi Gabriella,My name is Ebony.  How Are you? I have just finished reading The garden of Empress Cassia and I am doing a book report on it which is due tomorrow, (arrrrgh) and I am not nearly ready for it. I really liked the Garden of Empress Cassia.  You are a very talented writer (as you would know already judging by all the terrific awards you have). I am in Grade Six and I have a fantastic school librarian who recommended your books to me.  I have also read The Pearl of Tiger Bay which is my official favourite book in the world.

Dear Gabrielle,
my name is Imogen and i am nearly 11 years old.i love your books, especially The pearl of tiger bay.i also have The Garden of Empress Cassia.
i have 2 guinea pigs, 1 called GP and 1 called Ginger, who is extremely FAT!!!!i like the way you create characters, such as Mimi.

My name is Esther and i am in Year 6. My background is South Korea and i also have a lot of pets. I have a dog called Blancer, four birds and a goldfish Gilbert.( My goldfish’s name frequently changes depending on the mood im in hehe) I just finished your book, ‘The Hidden Monastery’, it was awesome! Absolutely fantastic! Every book you write always has a spark of magic. I love to draw, but the thing is i cannot draw as beautiful as i want to if i am not in the mood to draw. How about you?

Hi Gabrielle,
Thank you so much for the the inspiration you gave me at the Somerset Festival – your magic has certainly spurred me on!
I just wanted to let you know that Gabriell and I have both finished reading The Garden of Empress Cassia.   What a gem of a book – I can certainly see why your teacher encouraged you to have it published.
Are you sure you weren’t inside my head when you created Mimi?    You have totally captured our unique viewpoint and the emotional conflict that goes on inside us as we struggle to find our own identities.
Thank you again, and I look forward to seeing you at many more Festivals in the future!
Best Wishes,
Joanne

me encanto tu libro el jardin de la emperatriz casia en este ,momaento lo estoy estudiando en mi colegio blaise pascal colombia

Dear Ms Wang,
I’m Jemma and I’m writing to you because at school we have been doing some researching for a project on an author and I choose you.
